DILG XI Personnel Oriented on New CODI Procedural Rules During Kapehan sa Onse

Davao City – May 26, 2025 – As part of its regular “Kapehan sa Onse” session, the Department of the Interior and Local Government Region XI (DILG XI) conducted an orientation on the newly adopted Procedural Rules of the Committee on Decorum and Investigation (CODI) for Sexual Harassment Cases in DILG XI at the LGRRC Conference Room.

The session was led by Atty. Shaniz A. Abalorio-Cañete, Officer-in-Charge Regional Legal Officer and Chairperson of the DILG XI CODI, who presented the comprehensive procedural guidelines for handling sexual harassment cases within the regional office. The orientation aimed to ensure that all personnel are aware of the appropriate steps, responsibilities, and safeguards involved in reporting and addressing such cases.

Atty. Abalorio-Cañete discussed the key provisions of the manual, highlighting the importance of upholding confidentiality, impartiality, and due process. The orientation served as a proactive measure to reinforce DILG XI’s commitment to a safe, respectful, and gender-sensitive workplace.

The activity was attended by all personnel assigned at the DILG XI Regional Office. This orientation marks a significant step in operationalizing the newly approved manual and institutionalizing internal mechanisms to prevent and respond to sexual harassment.
